The longer I live in this world and in this 3D reality, the more I realize that there is a serious need for more of us women to learn how to ground ourselves. The reality is that many of us were never taught how to take care of our energy. And⊠Some of us to this day, still donât even that slightest clue what that means âto take care of our energyâ and why itâs so important.
Stolen Womanhood
I say this not to bash those of us who donât know, but rather to presence us to the reality that we are living in today as spiritual beings existing in human bodies. While it may be so, Â that more of us are âwaking upâ faster now in this day and age than in any other time in human history, we must not lose sight of the fact that for many of us (and particularly those of us between the ages of 30 and above), were raised in a time space reality, where we were regularly subjected to media that enforced negative socially constructed ideologies about beauty and womanhood most of the time.
- Instead of teaching us about self-care, they glamourized self-sacrifice.
- Instead of cautioning us about the dangers of âpeople pleasingâ, they manipulated us into believing that it was an act of love.
- Instead of teaching us how to listen to our own bodies and hearts to develop self-trust, they groomed us to value the opinions of society and seek the approval of others before our own.
- Instead of teaching how to say ânoâ or how to create healthy boundaries, they tricked us into believing that setting boundaries was selfish; and reinforced that being sick, burned out and depressed were only issues for weak lazy women.
Loss of Power, Energy and Self…
It took me a very loooooooooooong time to get to where I am today. I spent nearly two decades lost in the wilderness of the world⊠Trapped in that delicate space between self-awareness and complete and madness⊠Fighting desperately to hang on to happiness at every turn, only to have it slip through weary hands. I have struggled⊠And I know what itâs like to be surrounded by people and yet to feel completely and utterly aloneâŠ
When weâre not grounded, we lose ourselves.
We feel disconnected from all things â people, the future and life in generalâŠ
We feel lost.
All Roads Lead Back to Self-Love
Any loss of power is a self-love issue. Yes⊠But the trouble is, most of us don’t know where the root issue is⊠This is because most often it’s in our blind spot (the cracks within our sense of self that we aren’t even aware of), or it’s deeply connected to a layer of self that we believe is already healed. Now itâs really important that I let you know that feeling ‘lostâ in our lives can occur for all different kinds of emotional reasons beyond the things that Iâve touched upon in this piece. So if you are feeling lost in your life right now, the most loving thing that you can do for yourself is self-reflection:
- Go within.
- Ask your heart what it wants.
- Be completely honest with yourself.
- Listen to your intuition.
- Create a list of loving actions to take (remember to include when you will do them).
Then if necessary and/or desired reach out to me for a self-love coaching session and we can look deeper into the matter.
Feeling Good Requires Maintenance
When we take care of our energy on a regular basis, we are less likely to feel lost, or certainly the amount of time that we spend feeling disconnected and lost is much shorter. So while there is absolutely nothing inherently wrong with feeling lost (since all emotions are designed to help us mature spiritually), we donât want these feelings to block us emotionally or energetically. Why? Because when we are blocked we sabotage ourselves and our point of attraction weakens⊠And then we start manifesting all kinds of unwanted things in our lives. Here are a few very basic and simple things that you can do in the comfort of your own home to take care of your personal energy:
4 Simple Self-Love Tips To Get Your Energy Grounded!
NO SOCIAL MEDIA FOR 1 HOUR AFTER WAKING UP
I know⊠You love your social media. Your phone is one of the first things you reach for. But I am telling you honestly, that if you spent the same amount of time, attention and energy that you put into scrolling around, posting and commenting on social media, back into your Self not only would feel better, but in addition you would raise your vibrational frequency and thus your point of attraction. It is my recommendation that we give ourselves at least (yes at least), one hour before we even touch the phone. When you do this, you are taking charge of your energy by creating boundaries around what information flows through to you and when. When you do this, you put yourself first. This is how you inform your mind and your body that taking care of your energy is more important than feeding your addiction or insecurities.
YOUR SELF-CARE COMES BEFORE OTHERS AND WORK
Before you start trading any energy for money, itâs important that you consciously give some energy back to yourself. When you care for yourself, it is a declaration of appreciation for the portion of life force energy that you have been gifted⊠When you care for yourself you heal all layers of the energy body â mental, emotional, physical and spiritual. In essence self-care if important for our mental health, emotional health, cell regeneration (physical health) and ultimately all of this helps us to ground ourselves. I recognize that in this society, having the time to care for oneself is a âprivilegeâ. Some of us are more privileged than others for a plethora of reasons. We all lead unique lives and that means some of us have more time and money than others. My invitation to you is to look at the time and money that you have and see where you can give back to yourself. Because what matters most is not how much time or money you have to spend, but rather the quality. Iâve worked with plenty of women who have all the time and money in the world and spend thousands of dollars on things that luxuries that most cannot afford and yet they are some of the least grounded people I know, and theyâre dead on the inside. Likewise, I can work with a mom with 3 kids under 5, that works a 9-5 and is running a side hustle and we can create an activity that she can do while sheâs showering so she can give back to herself first. The key here, is to stop acting as though your needs are not as important as everyone elseâs. When you give to yourself first you anchor your energy and you align yourself with a vibrational frequency that makes you more self-aware and better able to self-manage.
BALANCE YOUR ROOT CHAKRA AND CROWN CHAKRA
I could write a whole series on how to balance your crown chakra. But for the purposes of this written word today, let me just say this⊠The two chakras that most deeply affect our ability to feel clear and grounded are the root chakra and crown chakras. When we donât feel grounded (or when weâre feeling blocked) we need to look carefully at whatâs going on with our energy. Now it’s important to remember that energy exists in many forms. For example, as thoughts or material goods. But a quick way to jump start healing is to focus on the physical layer of the body, connecting to the energy centers of the body and connecting with electromagnetic fields (our aura) our chi (the life force energy that exists in all living things). Simple ways to up the vibration of these energy centers  are to: go barefoot, get out in nature, use crystals, eat plant-based foods, drink lots of water and do energy work.
SHUT OUT THE NOISE! (FOR HIGHLY SENSITIVES/ OR INTROVERTS)
Okay so this is one of my favourite ways to ground my energy. If you didnât know already Iâm an old soul, an introvert and an empath. So, what that means for me is that pretty much on any given day of the week, I feel like the outside world is way too loud and chaotic for my liking. (Which is really weird, because you would think that I would prefer the suburbs more in that case⊠but I donât. I love the city! But I think thatâs mostly because as a WOC, I love the diversity. Also, I find it much easier to connect with other sci-fi geeks, mystics and open-minded people like myself. Places I definitely want to check out some time soon are Venice Beach and Sedona.) Okay Let’s get back to ‘shutting out the noise’. To shut the noise out you may need to do a couple of things. For example, If you live in a condo in the city like I do or just off the beach, you may need to close be strategic about which windows you open and when, so you arenât taking in all the noise from traffic or people. If you work in an office or shared work space, get yourself a pair of headphones to drown out any surrounding noise (this is a must).  When youâre working from home be mindful of what youâre listening to â turn off the news stations. They are a total drain on energy and often leave us in heavy or fearful emotional states. If youâre at the nail salon or Drâs office and theyâre blasting the news, again put in your headphones or ask them to change the station. Itâs not rude. Itâs a request. If they say no, then cool no biggie. At least you took an action that was in vibrational alignment with your needs, rather than suppress yourself.
We canât always shut out the noise. So, part of our spiritual practice involves learning how to stay grounded no matter what. But really and truly thatâs a much more complex spiritual practice that usually needs to be tweaked and tailoured based on a number of factors including but not limited to past experiences, spiritual practice, self-love issues, goals, environment, what body we exist in and how society perceives that body etc. I will perhaps write a piece about this one day, but in the meantime if you want to work with me privately please donât hesitate to reach out to me. What is most important, is that you have an understanding that eliminating noise is one of the most powerful ways to restore connection to yourself and your energy. The next level up, is learning how to self-manage and ground your energy during those times when you aren’t able to shield yourself.
It’s Up To Us Sisters
I like to believe that things are âchangingâ⊠I often hear people say that things are âgetting betterâ ⊠And maybe this is true in some ways and for some⊠But society is no different than the individual. What I pointing to here is the âlayers to the onionâ analogy. No matter how far we think weâve come, there are still so many more layers that require healing. And thatâs not a bad thing. Thatâs just what it looks like be on a journey of healing. What all of this means for us, is that we cannot wait for society to figure itself  out and finally get itâs shit together for us to heal. If weâre going to be grounded and well, itâs up to us to teach ourselves, to take care of ourselves and to do what we must do to love ourselves.
- Itâs up to us too look at where we spend our time and our money and start investing in the things that help us to feel mentally, emotionally and energetically well.
- Itâs up to us to stop competing with others and instead get more interested in what actually matters.
- Itâs up to us ‘get a life’ â not the one we settled for, or the one we think were entitled to, but the one that’s true.
Thereâs this awesome quote that says, âthey tried to burry us, but they didnât know we were seeds.â I love this quote.  Because if you are here, itâs likely because youâre just like me. In our lives we have been through hell and back⊠But here we are. Sister, we are capable of conjuring, creating and manifesting anything we dare envision. So today let us move forward grounded in our energy⊠With open arms ready to receive.
So it is written,
So let it be done.
